Commercial Products:
Inplane offers three commercial product families, the WA-2000, GEM-1000 and
GEM 2000 series, based on our Erbium-doped Waveguide amplifiers. All products
have a high level of Photonic integration at the chip level. The GEM 2000 modules
are array products, which include electronic control circuitry and firmware.
The GEM 1000 series are similar but have fewer control options. Products are
available with different pump lasers and integrated elements to best fit the
customer requirements.
The spectral performance of our products is indistinguishable from Erbium Doped
Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA). Small signal gain in excess of 30dB across the C-band
has been demonstrated. Because they have much shorter path length (~20cm) than
EDFA the impact of non-linear effects is also significantly reduced.
These utility amplifiers can be used in a wide variety of communication applications
as stand alone or sub-system elements at terminal points or network nodes. They
provide the flexibility to introduce gain at select points for improved system
performance, link reach and sensitivity. These products highlight the ability
of our technology to provide small, light, robust and cost effective solutions.
The manufacturability of our PLC technology is also scalable for any perceived
market demands.
