Biotechnology:
Inplane’s technology is well suited to fabricate optical chips for lab-on-a-chip applications and for
micro-optic arrays for biochemical analysis. PLC chips can be designed for appropriate wavelengths and
for excellent evanescent coupling to emitters and absorbers on their surface. Sources and detectors can
also be integrated to deliver complete module level solutions.
In these emerging applications there is an excellent opportunity to define novel, high performance solutions,
which are compact, reliable and manufacturable. Array products are easy to implement, which will permit
redundancy and facilitate verification schemes.
Inplane is capable to provide the optical components for such applications and is open to engagement with
customers who could bring the necessary bio-sensitive materials to activate sensor sites on the chips.
